Vacancy for Town Clerk & Responsible Financial Officer

Salary : In accordance with NALC & SLCC recommended rates – LC3 43-47 (£38,237 – £41,967) pro rata, depending on experience

Part Time : 30 hours per week

Pension : It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be enrolled in the Council auto-enrolment scheme at an employer contribution rate in excess of the statutory minimum, or other arrangements may be considered.

Bromyard & Winslow Town Council is seeking to appoint a proactive, forward-thinking and highly organised Town Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer.

The successful candidate will be expected to possess excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills together with a thorough knowledge of Council administration, financial management, Local Government legislation and governance.

The Clerk will be required to give advice and implement decisions across the complete range of Council activities. The ability to work independently and effectively with councillors, members of the public, business and third sector organisations and other bodies is essential.

Precept – £220,000

Population – 4,500 (anticipated to rise by 15% over the plan period)

Staff – Clerk, Deputy Clerk, Admin. Officer, Handyman, Gardener and Cleaner

Assets – The Old Vicarage Complex (including the Heritage Centre and Town Green), 2 car

parks, public toilets, burial ground, allotments and riverside walk

Bromyard is a lively small market town on the borders of Worcestershire and Herefordshire and is renowned for an immensely strong community spirit and for a wealth of volunteer-organised festivals and events.
