Welcome to Bromyard & Winslow Town Council

The Duke of Edinburgh 1921-2021

Bromyard & Winslow Town Council would like to express profound sadness on hearing the news of the passing of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

As a mark of respect the Union flag at the Town Council complex in Rowberry Street is flying at half-mast.

Statement on behalf of Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant, Edward Harley OBE

The Royal Family have the safety and wellbeing of the public in mind during these challenging times. The Family therefore ask that anyone wishing to express their condolences following the death of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh does so in the safest way possible.

In accordance with public health advice, members of the public are asked to continue to follow the current Government coronavirus guidelines, particularly on avoiding meeting in large groups to keep themselves and others safe.

An online Book of Condolence has been set up on the Royal website https://www.royal.uk/

Members of the public may wish to consider making a donation to a charity of their choice, or one of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Patronages in memory of His Royal Highness, instead of leaving floral tributes https://www.royal.uk/floral-tributes

A community comes together virtually to remember the fallen

As the usual ceremonies cannot be held this year the Town Council, in conjunction with Bromyard Branch of the Royal British Bromyard Royal British Legion, has prepared this video to enable everyone to participate in Remembrance 2020. Grateful thanks to cameraman Len Vidler who made this moving tribute possible.

The Town Council has decided to continue to provide free parking in its car parks in Rowberry Street and Tenbury Road, until 31st March 2021.

The free parking initiative was introduced at the beginning of lockdown in an effort to help alleviate pressure on local businesses and residents.

Town Councillors hope that the move to extend free parking will encourage people to shop locally, kick-start the local economy and encourage visitors to return to the town as lockdown restrictions continue to be relaxed over the coming weeks.
